For the first time ever, students working at TigerTV are writing and filming their own dramatic miniseries, a show entitled "Found." While the show is not scheduled to premiere until this semester's conclusion, executive producer Andrew Quirin, junior, is already planning a budget, mapping out a plot and recruiting a cast and crew.
The first casting call is today in the Café Theatre from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. "There are ten main characters at this point, and several minor roles," Quirin said.
Scripts will be provided at the casting call, so no prior experience or rehearsed monologue is required. Sophomore Jaime Mire, head of casting and an associate producer of "Found," welcomes all.
"It's going to be really simple, really easygoing," Mire said. "Just come in whenever you can during the call."
Besides a strong cast, Quirin is also looking for students interested in helping with the crew, costumes, make-up, writing, and just about anything involved with production.
"We're trying to open it up to as much of the Trinity campus as possible in order to involve the entire campus in making something that Trinity can really be proud of."
Quirin described the basic layout of "Found."
"It's a five part miniseries taking the shape of a mystery thriller," Quirin said. "There will be a lot of back-stories and flashbacks.… It's kind of like 'Lost.'"
Though "Found" is currently working out some preproduction fine points, Quirin revealed a few details of the show. "We are planning on creating 12-minute episodes," Quirin said. "But we're breaking them in half with 30 seconds of commercials that are all fake and Trinity-produced."
Quirin also pointed out that the mock commercials would provide a great opportunity for guest producers and directors to contribute to the show.
Those who know and loved "The Floor" will be happy to know that two of its creators, Sophomores Brendan McNamara and Chris Nixon, are both involved in "Found."
McNamara, who has already written most of the pilot episode, described how the concept for "Found" was formed.

Great article by Jordan. However, I think that it's worth mentioning that Found is in no way a Lost parody or spoof. It's going to be a straight up mystery/thriller. (Continued…)
