E-cigs, the future?

I love nicotine, but I hate cigarettes. Recently I've realized that smokers are becoming outcasts of society. Smoking bans are popping up left and right, smokers are receiving dirty looks from the asthmatics, and we're always getting lectured as to why we should put down our "cancer sticks."
Look, we all know that smoking is detrimental to our health, and yet we've made the conscious decision to continue, so please stop. Oh, I'm sorry, is your baby being exposed to my second hand smoke? Move your baby.
I have as much of a right to smoke in public as you do to carry that bundle of screaming joy. Okay, let's reach a compromise. If you come to Starbucks and complain to me that my smoking is bothering your child, don't bring your five year old to Starbucks. I'm sure midnight is past their bedtime.
Okay, now that I've gotten most of my frustrations out, we can get to the relevant part of the article: electronic cigarettes. I know, I know, we have all seen the commercials promoting them as the healthy alternative to cigarettes (that beat the nicotine patches and the awful tasting gum) while maintaining the traditional cigarette feel and look. Hmm… now that seems a little too good to be true. Well, it is good and it is true.
Out of curiosity, I decided to buy a "starter kit," which comes with the battery pack, ten nicotine pack refills, an extra battery and a charger. Skeptical at first, I immediately started to think that I just spent money on something useless. Then, the nicotine finally kicked in. Kudos to the proprietary vapor delivery system.
As advertised, I wondered if I could smoke anywhere. Yet again, true. In fact, my little mind game worked according to plan: I managed to piss the right people off and there was nothing they could do about it. I "smoked" indoors and outdoors, places with "NO SMOKING" banners and even in a mall.
The great thing about this electronic cigarette, besides the fact that there is no harmful smoke and you can legally use it anywhere, is that it feels like an actual cigarette, which could help out in the quitting process I found out that more people shy away from quitting because of their oral fixations than being a nicotine addict.
So if you're either wanting to quit or find that the social pressures of non-smokers are getting to you (weak), try out these tested and true (by yours truly) "E-Cigs," the future of your next nicotine fix!
